A native of Southern Texas, Amanda Dyar spent most of her youth in Tennessee where she played football on her high school team. Amanda wrote her first short story at age 6 and went on to publish several books based off her collection of writings. At age 17, Amanda graduated with her first degree in Pre-Law and continued her higher learning over the next 10 years receiving four more academic degrees. She went on to start her own publication dedicated to gaming and horror called “BioGamer Girl.” Known for her expertise in gaming, Amanda has written for several well-known magazines that includes America’s Horror Magazine “Fangoria.” She currently writes for Felicia Day’s Geek and Sundry and The Escapist. Amanda models for various comic books and began her film career with the creation of her short film “Growing Up Zombie!” To date she has over 40+ credits on her IMDB page in acting, directing, and producing.
Before coming to work at Excellance, Amanda was PR Specialist for Curse, Inc located in Huntsville. It was her job to raise awareness about the company’s VoIP platform, Curse Voice, through media coverage and events. Outside of public relations–she has also worked as a mental health counselor, office manager, Search Engine Evaluator at Google and as Accounts Payable for Alabama Senator Lowell Barron.
When not at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and two children, drawing, writing, traveling, playing games (Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, Resident Evil), watching horror movies and sleeping!
What Amanda likes most about her job?
“I enjoy the creative freedom of my job and being able to introduce people to exciting new products. I have only been at Excellance a short while, but everyone here is already like family.”
